The Audio Precision AP2700 product is actually made up of 2 things: the hardware, which is an audio analysis machine for sound engineers; and the software, which is the AP Control Software. The two come as one package and, when taken together, can be used for testing a variety of audio devices, including power amps, digital interface devices, TVs, music players, professional audio tools, and so on.
The AP2700 actually lays claim to a very specific ability: it can handle THD+Ns of less than -115 dB at 2.0 Vrms—the lowest THD+N on the globe in 2014. It is also equipped with the facilities for analyzing both digital and analogue audio signals: the result is the availability of both ultra-fast and ultra-precise analyzers for various situations. It also has the chops to both create and analyze multiple waveform types, from white noise to MLS.
The AP2700 can be run on computers using Windows only, specifically any of these operating systems: Windows XP SP2/SP3, Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows Vista. Only 32-bit is supported for Vista, but 64-bit support is provided too for the Windows 8 and Windows 7 users.
