What is Aptana Studio?
Aptana Studio is an open Web software application that provides the user with an open source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for creating Web applications using the Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) platform.
Apart from AJAX, the software also supports other programming protocols such as Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python and Peri. The software may be derived as a plug-in for Eclipse programming software, or as a stand-alone product that can be downloaded from the Aptana website. The software is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.
The software features an application known as Code Assist which helps developers write scripts by providing hints and helpful tips. It also comes with an integrated code debugger to help the developer identify bugs in the code. The user can likewise preview the Web applications through the built-in preview browser.
The integrated command-line interface that enables users to launch systems commands. The Integrated Development Environment is fully customizable, allowing the user to execute specific commands by writing a scripting command. The latest version of the software is Aptana Studio 3.
