What is an XTODVD file?
An .XTODVD file is a ConvertXtoDVD Project file.
The ConvertXtoDVD Project format is a file type used by the ConvertXtoDVD application made by VSO-Software. It is a project file (.XTODVD) saved by the program when a user builds a DVD conversion job. The file contains the locations of all source video, audio and subtitle files; the user's chosen DVD settings; menu and chapter definitions; and other options needed to re-open and resume work. It is not itself a video or DVD image.
ConvertXtoDVD writes this file when the user selects "Save Project" (or "Save Project As") during authoring work. Later the project can be loaded to continue editing or to begin the conversion and burning process. The file does not embed or store the video, audio or subtitle media itself - moving or renaming those files after saving the project may prevent the project from reopening correctly.
XTODVD project files begin with the XML signature bytes 3C 3F 78 6D 6C at offset 0, and contain the string "CONVERTXTODVD" within the content as an internal identifier.
