Data Format Description Language Schema
This is a file format that implements a standard way to describe text and binary data. It was published as an Open Grid Forum Proposed Recommendation in 2011.
A DFDL schema makes it possible to read any text or binary data from their native formats and present the data as if it came from the same source - that is, data in multiple formats can be transformed into a common output using the definitions in the DFDL schema. The reverse process is also possible - going from a standard format to native formats.
