Are you having problems opening a WRI file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your WRI files.
What is a WRI file?
A .WRI file is a Windows Write Document file.
Files that contain the .wri file extension are text documents that have been created with the Windows Write word processing application.
WRI files can contain page formatting and stylized texts, but the Write application is not as versatile as Word, and the WRI files will not contain as many features as a DOC file might.
Windows Write is a word processing application that was included with early versions of the Windows operating system. It was similar to the current NotePad application. The files that are created with this software are saved with the .wri file extension.
Microsoft Write was discontinued after Windows version 3.1 and Microsoft's NotePad application began to take its place.
