What are UI files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening an UI file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your UI files.

What is an UI file?

UI files have multiple uses, and Qt User Interface is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

Qt User Interface

UI files are a powerful tool for creating beautiful user interfaces. Qt Design Tools provide an intuitive, streamlined approach to building and configuring complex UIs. With this system, users store information about the interface's components, like widgets and connections, in easily edited ".UI" files.

The Qt framework efficiently handles conversion into code. This saves time and simplifies the development process. Making changes is easy – just adjust the UI file and let Qt do the hard work of translation. The result is intuitive design with coding made simple.

How to open UI files

Important: Different programs may use files with the UI file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your UI file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested five different UI openers which you will find listed below.
