Opening SII files

Did your computer fail to open a SII file? We explain what SII files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your SII files.

What is a SII file?

The SII file format is a configuration file type that uses the .sii file extension, which was developed by SCS Software. These .sii files are generated by the 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin' software, which is a video game that was also designed by SCS Software for Windows computers. Also known as truck definition files, these .sii files contain truck definition data that is used in this video game.

The 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin' software is a trucking simulation video game for PCs. This program was developed by SCS Software in 2006. When a user stores truck definition settings and configurations, these pieces of information are stored in an SII file that's generated by the video game, and this data is used by this software during the game.

It's best to leave these .sii files alone, in order for the 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin' video game to continue running properly. These may be opened using Notepad among other standard text editing tools, though doing this may display non-human readable data.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
