Opening SCH files

Did your computer fail to open a SCH file? We explain what SCH files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your SCH files.

What is a SCH file?

The .sch file extension is used for a proprietary data file format that was created by Microsoft. Also known as Microsoft Schedule+ project files, these SCH files can be created using the Microsoft Schedule+ software, which is an outdated and unsupported program that has been replaced by Microsoft Outlook.

These SCH files contain project data that has been created using the Microsoft Schedule+ software. These .sch files are normally found in older Windows PCs.

The Microsoft Schedule+ software can be used to open these .sch files. It's recommended to only use this program for viewing and editing the project data that is stored in these SCH files.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
