How to open RFL files

Did your computer fail to open a RFL file? We explain what RFL files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your files.

What is a RFL file?

The .rfl file extension is most commonly associated with Reason ReFill Sound Bank files. Reason is a song creation program that provides users with a virtual studio rack and advanced sequencer features. The RFL files often contain samples, song files and patches that are used by the Sound Bank software. These files are compressed to about half of the original size when stored in the RFL file format.

The .rfl file extension is also used for ANSYS files, Guardian database roll-forward files and RISAFloor analysis & design files.

RFL file openers, viewers, etc.

These apps are known to open certain types of RFL files. Remember, different programs may use RFL files for different purposes, so you may need to try out a few of them to be able to open your specific file.
