Opening R32 files

Did your computer fail to open a R32 file? We explain what R32 files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your R32 files.

What is a R32 file?

Files that contain the .r32 file extension are most commonly associated with a single volume of a split file archive. When a file compression and archiving utility is used to combine a large batch of files into a single archive file, the resulting archive can be split into smaller volumes. This allows the archive to be saved across multiple computer disks and makes it easier to transmit the archive over the Internet via email or P2P applications.

When the file archive is split, each volume of the archive is given its own file extension in sequence, such as .r01, .r02, .r03, etc. The .r32 file extension is usually assigned to the thirty-second volume of the split archive.

In order for a user to extract the contents of the archive, all of the volumes of the split archive must be present.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
