What is a R04 file?
The .r04 file extension is created when a single archive file is split into separate archive volumes. File archiving software can be used to combine a large batch of files into a single archive folder. This file archive can then be split into separate volumes, making it easier to distribute the files over the Web or save the archive across multiple computer disks. The volumes of the archive are each given their own extension, such as .r01, r02, .r03, etc. The .r04 file extension is assigned to a single volume of the split file archive.
