What are PEAK files and how to open them

What is a PEAK file?
The .peak file extension is most commonly used by the Adobe Soundbooth audio editing software. Files with the .peak file extension contain peak data that is created by the software.
The .peak file extension is also used for Steinberg Cubase peak files.
