Opening PDS files

Did your computer fail to open a PDS file? We explain what PDS files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your PDS files.

What is a PDS file?

Files that contain the .pds file extension are most commonly used by the PowerDirector video editing software application. The current version of PowerDirector, version 9, is distributed by CyberLink and it is the first native 64-bit consumer video editor.

The PDS files that are used by this software contain references to audio and video files that have been edited with the software. These files commonly contain menu settings and information regarding transitions and effects for the associated video file.

The Pldasm programming language also uses the .pds file suffix. These PDS files contain language source code files that have been writing in the Pldasm language.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
