What is a PDE file?

The .pde file extension is pioneered and used in processing programming language. PDE stands for Processing Development Environment. PDE file is a source code file used in the said programming language.

Processing is an open source programming language and integrated development environment that is primarily made to cater digital arts, new media art and visual presentations. It is a language environment for art communities who want to create source codes for images, interactions and animations. Its purpose is to teach the users the fundamentals of computer programming happening inside the visual paradigms.

PDE files are necessary in bringing the Processing to communities of student, designers and artists. PDE files contain information pertaining to instructions and source scripts followed by Processing language Advanced scripts, which are generated to support more complex and detailed visual creations.
