INO File

What are INO files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening an INO file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.

What is an INO file?

An .INO file is an Arduino Sketch file.

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino electronic boards are able to read inputs from various sensors and turn them into an output, e.g., by starting a motor, turning on a light source, or sending an online message.

You can tell your board what to do by sending a set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board. To do so you use the Arduino programming language, and the Arduino Software (IDE).

An Arduino Sketch file contains the project source code. Previous versions of the Arduino software used the PDE file extension instead of INO.
