What are PCH files and how to open them

What is a PCH file?
PCH files have multiple uses, and IFF Binary Patch is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

How to open PCH files
Important: Different programs may use files with the PCH file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your PCH file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While IFF Binary Patch is a popular type of PCH-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .PCH file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
MS Visual C++ Precompiled Header
We know that one PCH format is MS Visual C++ Precompiled Header. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
