What is a PACKAGE file?
A .PACKAGE file is a Maxis Package file.
These are computer game archives for Maxis / Electronic Arts games. They contain the game's 3D model information, textures, character information, sounds, and other game data.
Some of the games distributed by Electronic Arts that use the .package file format include The Sims and Spore game series.
