Opening NBI files

Did your computer fail to open a NBI file? We explain what NBI files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your NBI files.

What is a NBI file?

The .nbi file extension is used for a backup file format that was developed by Nero AG. These NBI files are also classified as disk image files. The Nero BackItUp software is used to generate these .nbi files.

Also known as Nero BackItUp backup files, these NBI files contain copies of files, directories and sub directories that have been backed up using the Nero BackItUp software. This program is designed for Microsoft Windows platforms as a backup utility software.

The Nero BackItUp program can be used to open and access the files and folders inside these .nbi files. This software can also be used to edit the content of an NBI file. This means with the Nero BackItUp program, users can delete and add files and folders to these .nbi files.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
