What is a MV file?

MV files have multiple uses, and Miva Script is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

Miva Script

These files are written in Miva Script, a programming language used to create and customize e-commerce websites. It enables dynamic page creation, database interactions, form processing and many other functions necessary for an online store's operation.

Utilizing Miva Script files, users of Miva Merchant - an e-commerce platform - are able to customize different parts of their online store such as the layout, product catalog and checkout process. These files contain code that is executed on the server side.

Miva Script can be used to display custom product listings, calculate shipping costs, and integrate with external payment gateways. To use Miva Script, you can edit the files manually or access it through the Miva Merchant admin page.

How to open MV files

Important: Different programs may use files with the MV file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your MV file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
