What are MTD files and how to open them

What is a MTD file?
A .MTD file is a Digital Sheet Music file.
Digital Sheet Music files with the extension .MTD store musical notation, lyrics, and tablature created by Musicnotes for its digital sheet music service. These files represent complete sheet music arrangements (voice, guitar, piano, etc.) as purchased from Musicnotes, and are intended for viewing, printing once, and interacting via Musicnotes software. They are written by Musicnotes (via its Viewer or Player apps) after purchase by users.
Users open .MTD files with Musicnotes software - primarily the Musicnotes Player or Viewer - which lets them display the score, play back audio, see notes light up during playback, and adjust tempo or view song information. Mac users may print and view but cannot save some newer file types. Exporting, converting, or saving .MTD files to formats like MIDI or PDF is restricted by licensing and is generally not permitted.
Files begin with the ASCII signature "RIFF" at offset 0 and include specific internal identifiers such as "MTDFmtdp" at offset 8, "pgin" at offset 28, "LIST" at offset 60, and "INFOI" at offset 68.
