What is a MOBI file?
A .MOBI file is a Mobipocket format e-Book file.
Files containing the .mobi file extension most commonly contain digital ebooks saved in the Mobipocket binary eBook format.
The MOBI eBook file format supports standard HTML, and it is one of the Open eBook Publication formats for eBook distribution.
MOBI files may contain DRM copyright protection features. DRM features prevent unauthorized users from viewing or copying an eBook that is contained in the MOBI file.
The MOBI file format is commonly used for eBooks that are distributed for use on smartphones, PDAs, and the Amazon Kindle reading device or devices that support the Amazon Kindle software.
