FBReader

If you are looking for FBReader, you have come to the right place. We explain what FBReader is and point you to the official download.

What is FBReader?

FBReader is a program that allows the user to read electronic books (e-books) directly from their computer or devices. Provided as freeware under the GNU General Public License, the software supports popular e-book formats like ePub (with limited support for CSS), fb2, MOBI (Mobipocket), and subsets of RTF (Rich Text Format) and Microsoft Office Word.

The program provides font styles and sizes, to allow the user to configure how texts within the e-book are displayed. Fonts may be increased to allow for easier reading. The Options tab allows the user to configure other elements of the e-book such as language, scrolling, margins, format, rotation and colors.

The user may search for texts, subjects and phrases from the e-book pages through the text finder integrated into the program. To get started, the program provides the user with a network library that lists a selection of electronic books. Electronic books listed in the library may be downloaded for free, or may be available for purchase. The user also has the option to add their e-books to the library.

FBReader comes in a version for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Android, and Blackberry. Its functionality may be extended through the installation of third-party plug-ins.
