What is a LOC file?
Files that contain the .loc file extension are most commonly associated with GPS software applications. The LOC files contain GPS location information, such as waypoints, destinations and other location data.
Files that are stored in the LOC format often store favorite locations, places of interest, recent destinations and other locations that have been saved by a user to a GPS system. These files are normally saved in in XML format.
The LOC file format has been being replaced increasingly by the GPX file format.
MicroSim PCBoards also use the .loc file format. These LOC files contain component location report files.
