EasyGPS is software that provides support for several GPS devices including Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance, MLR, Brunton and Silva. The software generally functions as a communications link between the user’s GPS device and PC, allowing them to copy GPS information from the computer and onto the device, and vice-versa.
The software provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for creating waypoints and tracks, to help the user navigate their way from point A to point B. Waypoints are basically landmarks that will help the user get to their destination. These can be saved on the device for future reference. Waypoints are stored as routes. A track meanwhile, is the current location of the user.
The GUI’s main menu provides the following tabs: File, Edit, Geocache, Tools, GPS, Window and Help.
The File tab is where the user can start on a new route or access an existing one. This is also where the Print and Print Preview options can be accessed. The Tools tab on the other hand, provides the user with utilities for creating a new waypoint or route. Here, the user can add photos to specific locations, move the map around to view areas that are close to the user’s desired destination, and get additional information on the Web for a specific area or location.
EasyGPS is free software that can run on Windows XP, Vista and 7.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files EasyGPS can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
