Opening LIC files

Did your computer fail to open a LIC file? We explain what LIC files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your LIC files.

What is a LIC file?

Files that contain the .lic file extension are license files that are used for a variety of different software applications.

An LIC file will usually contain the registration information that pertains to the software application that is associated with it. These files are commonly used with shareware applications.

An LIC file is created when a user registers the application with the software company he or she downloaded the software from.

LIC files are often encrypted or encoded so as not to jeopardize the license rights of the associated software programs, although they are sometimes saved in a simple text-based format.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
