How to open INP files
Did your computer fail to open an INP file? We explain what INP files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your files.
What is an INP file?
Files that contain the .inp file extension are most commonly associated with video game replay files. These files are created by the MAME arcade emulation software.
The INP files that are created by the MAME software application store the replay data of a gamer's gameplay using the compressed MAME file format. This allows users to record videos of their gameplay experiences into the INP file format.
Game players often record and play back their recorded gameplay videos and share them online. INP files are often used when sharing game tips and advice online with other gamers. For example, in World of Warcraft, if a game player wants to show other players how to succeed in end-game content, he or she could create an INP file that shows how the strategy works.
