What is an IDF file?
The .idf file extension is most commonly associated with MIDI instrument definition files. The IDF files define the parameters of a MIDI instrument or controller. These files provide the instrument ID, key map, channel assignments and other necessary MIDI information.
The .idf file extension is also used for identification files, InspireData files, Printed Circuit Board data exchange files and Autodesk intensity duration frequency factors data files.
How to open IDF files
Important: Different programs may use files with the IDF file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your IDF file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
