What are GAM files and how to open them

What is a GAM file?
GAM files have multiple uses, and Savegame is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Savegame File
Files that contain the .gam file extension are most commonly associated with saved game files that are used by a variety of different computer gaming applications. These files allow a user to save the progression of his or her gameplay, eliminating the need to restart the game from the beginning every time he or she stops and then restarts the game. Popular software games that use the .gam file extension include Baldur's Gate, Dark Engine, TADS and Vectrex.
How to open GAM files
Important: Different programs may use files with the GAM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your GAM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

The Games Factory Game

Vectrex Game ROM
The Vectrex was a game console with a built-in vector monitor to display the games. It was introduced in June 1982 by General Consumer Electronics. This type of GAM file contains an exact dump of a game cartridge for this console.
