FB! File - opening and understanding

Did your computer fail to open a FB! file? We explain what they are used for and recommend software that we know can open or otherwise handle your .FB! files.

What is a FB! file?

The .fb! file extension is most commonly associated with the FlashGet download manager utility distributed by Beijing Zhitongwuxian Tech, Ltd.

When a user downloads a file using the FlashGet download utility, the file that is being downloaded is saved with the .fb! file extension during the download process. When the download process has been completed, the .fb! file extension is replaced with the proper file extension.

For example, if a user is downloading an MP3 file using the FlashGet software, the file will be saved as filename.fb! as it is downloading. When the download has been completed, the file will be saved with the proper filename.mp3 extension.
