Opening DSN files

Did your computer fail to open a DSN file? We explain what DSN files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your DSN files.

What is a DSN file?

Files that contain the .dsn file extension are used by a variety of different database applications. The DSN files that are used by these applications are used by a user to connect to the database.

The DSN files contain the information that is required to allow a user to connect to the database remotely, such as the server address, the user ID, the password, the data source name and the database directory. These DSN files are normally stored in plain text format.

The .dsn file extension is also used by the CD Stomper Pro software application. This software program uses the .dsn file suffix to store the CD and DVD labels that are created with the application.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
