Opening DPT files

Did your computer fail to open a DPT file? We explain what DPT files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your DPT files.

What is a DPT file?

The DPT file extension is used for a data file format that was created by PublicSpace.Net. These DPT files can normally be found in Mac OS X computers, specifically in the installation folder where the A Better Finder Rename software has been installed. This program uses these .dpt files so as to perform its functions for renaming multiple files.

Also known as Better Rename Droplet files, these DPT files contain source code and resources that are used by the A Better Finder Rename software so as to run properly in a Mac OS X computer. Droplet data is stored in a .dpt file, which is used by this program for performing some of its functions.

These .dpt files are not meant to be opened. It's advised to leave these DPT files alone, in order for the A Better Finder Rename software to continue working properly.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
