Kingsoft Presentation Document

Kingsoft Presentation Document (extension .dps) is a proprietary slideshow file format used by Kingsoft Presentation (also branded as WPS Presentation), part of Kingsoft's WPS Office suite. It stores full slide‐based presentations - text, images, embedded multimedia, shapes and slide transitions - in Kingsoft's native presentation format rather than in a standardized open format.

These .dps files are created and saved by Kingsoft Presentation when you build a slideshow. Users typically edit, view or export them using Kingsoft Presentation (WPS Office). They can often be converted into more widely compatible presentation formats such as Microsoft PowerPoint's PPT or PPTX. Outside of Kingsoft's software environment, support is limited: formatting, embedded media or transitions may not transfer cleanly.

Technically, many .dps files use Microsoft's OLE2 Compound File (Compound Document) format as their underlying container. They often start with the compound file signature "D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1" at offset zero. They may also contain internal streams or sections with names like SummaryInformation, PowerPoint Document, PictureS, Current User and DocumentSummaryInformation.
