How to open DEM files

What is a DEM file?
Files that contain the .dem file extension are most commonly associated with video game demo files.
A variety of commercial video games use the DEM file format for demonstration purposes. These files normally contain in-game recordings that show users an example of the associated video game.
Popular video games that use the .dem file extension include Unreal Tournament, Half-Life and Quake.
The .dem file extension is also used for a variety of 3D graphic files, such as those create by Vista Pro and ArcView.
The .dem file suffix is also used by the iGO software application. These DEM files contain elevation model files that are used by the software program.
