DCTMP File
What are DCTMP files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a DCTMP file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your DCTMP files.
What is a DCTMP file?
Files that contain the .dctmp file format are most commonly associated with the Direct Connect file-sharing application. When this software program begins to download a file from the Internet, the file is saved with the .dctmp file extension until the file has completed the download process.
Once the file download has completed, the proper file extension is assigned to the file name. For example, if you were downloading an AVI file using the Direct Connect application, the file would be saved as filename.dctmp while the download was in progress. Once the download had been completed the file would be renamed to filename.avi.
