What is a D71 file?

A .D71 file is a Commodore 1571 Disk Dump file.

A D71 file contains a double-sided 5.25" diskette dump, formatted for use with the Commodore 64 home computer equipped with a Commodore 1571 disk drive. They could hold a total of 349696 bytes.

These dump files contain an exact copy of the disk contents and can be used in emulators that let you run Commodore 64 games and programs on your modern PC. This format is similar to D64, which contains a dump of a diskette formatted for the Commodore 1541 disk drive.
