Are you having problems opening a CRX file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CRX files.
What is a CRX file?
A .CRX file is a Google Chrome Extension file.
Files that contain the .crx file extension are used by the Google Chrome Internet browser. Google Chrome is a browser much like the Internet Explorer browser distributed by Microsoft, but Chrome is made by Google.
The CRX files that are used by the Chrome browser contain plug-in files, also referred to as Google Chrome extension files. These files are installed onto a user's Google Chrome browser application in order to provide the user with additional features, such as custom browser skins, ad-blockers, screenshot tools, etc.
