CNT File
What are CNT files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a CNT file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.
What is a CNT file?
CNT files have multiple uses, and Windows Help File Contents is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Windows Help File Contents
Microsoft Windows uses files containing the .cnt file extension to index the help files used by the Windows operating system. These files can be created by the Microsoft Help Workshop application, a program used to develop help documentation for the Windows OS.
The actual help files used by this program are saved with the .hlp file suffix. The table of contents files that organize the HLP files are saved with the .cnt file extension. CNT files are optional files, and not all Windows HLP files have a CNT file associated with them.
How to open CNT files
We have identified one CNT opener that is compatible with this specific type of CNT file.
