What is a CM0012 file?
The CM0012 file format was developed by Western Digital for their WD TV multimedia device product line. Files with the .cm0012 file extension are classified as data files. The content of these files may be associated with corrupt video data that has been processed by the WD TV multimedia device. These CM0012 files can normally be found in USB disks or external data storage drives that have been connected to the WD TV multimedia product. Many users claim that the firmware of the WD TV multimedia device creates these CM0012 files after a user disconnects a Flash disk or an external hard drive from the WD TV product without using the provided option for ejecting connected USB disks.Files in proprietary data formats that were created for the sole use of a hardware device like these CM0012 files are best to be left alone. These do not contain any human readable data.
