Quattro Pro Clip Art
Quattro Pro Clip Art files hold graphic clip-art images created for use in Quattro Pro, a spreadsheet application originally from Borland and later Corel. These art files are used to insert pre-drawn artwork into spreadsheets or documents, often for decoration or illustration. They are designed to be reused and inserted rather than edited extensively.
Files of this type are generated (or exported) by Quattro Pro when saving clip art content. Once created, they can be inserted into Quattro Pro worksheets or other applications that recognize the format. In many cases the images are raster-based, though details like color depth, transparency support, or scaling depend on the version of Quattro Pro that produced them.
Each file begins with a recognizable internal signature: the first bytes are ASCII "RRTL", followed by a zero byte and then byte value 0x01 at offset 0. This signature helps programs detect that the file is indeed a Quattro Pro clip art file.
Windows Clipboard
Windows Clipboard files save the contents of Windows' clipboard to disk, using the ClipBook Viewer (clipbrd.exe) or similar clipboard utilities in older Windows versions. They store whatever data was most recently copied - whether text, images, metafiles or other registered clipboard formats - in a way that clipboard-aware programs can restore or examine it later.
These files are created by the Windows Clipboard service through ClipBook Viewer. They are usually saved with the format's native structure for transfers via Copy/Paste, and later opened back into the clipboard or another application that understands the registered format.
Various apps that use files with this extension
These apps are known to open certain types of CLP files. Remember, different programs may use CLP files for different purposes, so you may need to try out a few of them to be able to open your specific file.
