Files with the .chm extension are most commonly associated with Microsoft help documentation files. The CHM files are compiled to create the help contents of an associated application. These files are normally saved in compressed HTML format and include the images, text and hyperlinks contained in the help files.
The .chm file extension is also used for Chameleon source font files and Chemdraw chemical structure files.
