While Calendar Creator Plus Workspace is a popular type of CCW-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .CCW file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.

MSX Home Office Document/data

MSX Home Office documents store the formatted text, address entries, label layouts or spreadsheet data created by the MSX Home Office suite (version 2) running under MSX-DOS on MSX2 home computers. Files in this format are part of an integrated productivity environment by Philips / Computer Mates, intended for typical home office tasks on MSX2 machines.

These files are PRODUCED by MSX Home Office, which includes modules such as Word Processor, Spreadsheet, and Address Cards. The files encapsulate user-created content: text (word processor), tables with numeric or textual spreadsheet data, and card/address/label layouts. They are saved directly to floppy disks formatted under MSX-DOS, for later reopening in the same suite.

Files begin with a fixed byte header: the first eight bytes are ASCII "CCWSSSSS" (that is, hex 43 43 57 53 53 53 53 53) at offset zero. This signature helps distinguish them from other files with similar extension.
