What is a BXU file?
A .BXU file is a Sony PictureGear Studio Binder Document file.
Sony PictureGear Studio Binder Document files store custom photo "binder" creations made with Sony's PictureGear Studio software. They preserve a collection of images arranged into pages along with layout elements such as titles, backgrounds, decorative stamps or clip art, comments or annotations, and background/page design choices.
PictureGear Studio is an application provided by Sony for Windows, bundled with certain VAIO computers and other devices. It provides workflows for organizing photos into albums and binders. Users select a binder style, add photos, decorate pages, add comments and then Save the binder document.
The Binder document format is written by PictureGear Studio and read only by that same program. It is not an export or share format. To share or view binders on other computers or devices, the program offers export options (such as "Light Package" or "Full Package") that bundle up image files plus layout information in compressed or uncompressed form.
Signature information can identify these files: they begin with the ASCII string "8…TGBN" (that is, bytes 0x38 00 00 00 54 47 42 4E) at offset zero, show "(...ATTR" at offset 56, and contain the string "('''ATTR" somewhere inside.
How to open BXU files
Important: Different programs may use files with the BXU file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your BXU file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
