BB6 File
What are BB6 files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a BB6 file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your BB6 files.
What is a BB6 file?
A .BB6 file is a BassBox Speaker Design file.
BassBox Speaker Design files store complete speaker‐enclosure design projects created by BassBox 6 Pro, a Windows program by H.T. Audio that helps design speaker boxes to yield desired bass response. These files include driver Thiele-Small parameters, box shape, internal and external dimensions, vent tuning or passive radiator details, and predicted performance graphs such as system impedance, frequency response, cone displacement and vent air velocity. They are used to re-open, edit and share designs between versions of BassBox (including Lite and older BassBox versions) so work does not need to be re-entered.
Files are produced by BassBox 6 Pro when saving a design ("Save" or "Save Design As…"); they are read and loaded again by BassBox 6 Pro (and BassBox 6 Lite when compatible). Other functions in the program - such as Driver Database, Design Wizard, Parts List printouts, performance graphs - use the data stored in these files to display and export detailed enclosure models.
The first few bytes of a file show an ASCII header identifying version 6 ("6.000...") stored at the very beginning of the file (offset zero).
