How to open APF files
Important: Different programs may use files with the APF file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your APF file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested ten different APF openers which you will find listed below.

All known file formats using extension .APF
While Allways Printer Data File is a popular type of APF-file, we know of 4 different uses of the .APF file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
Async Professional Fax
Async Professional Fax files store digital fax images produced or received using Async Professional's fax components. They package scanned or converted documents into a compressed bi-level bitmap optimized for Group 3 fax transmission. These files serve as a working format within Async Professional: they can be created by converting printable documents or by the fax-receive module, then later unpacked into more common image types or sent via a modem.
Documents sent to the Async Professional fax-printer driver are converted into this format, which is also used to store incoming faxes. The format supports additional "fax job" files, which embed a standard Async Professional Fax file together with metadata such as sender, recipients, cover page text, scheduling information, and header lines. A job file is essentially the fax image plus information needed to automate or queue fax transmissions.
Files begin with a distinct signature: the ASCII bytes "APF10" followed by a control character (0x1A) at offset zero.

We know that one APF format is MightyFax. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
Vector Unit Game Assets
Vector Unit Game Assets files are resource collections used by the Vector Engine game engine developed by Vector Unit. These files store a variety of game content such as 3D model templates (static or animated), textures, fonts, particle effects, strings, and project‐level settings. Each file represents one self-contained asset type (for example animated models or texture asset) used during game runtime.
The engine author creates these asset files during development. The content is consumed by the runtime to load, render, animate, and otherwise present game elements. Typical workflow: an artist makes or exports a model or texture → asset build process converts it into a "game asset" of the appropriate type → engine loads that asset at runtime. Types of asset encompassed include animated model assets, static model assets, texture assets, font assets, and effect (PFX) assets among others.
Files of this format can be identified by internal byte signatures. They begin with ASCII bytes "FPUV" at offset zero. They also contain internal marker strings such as VUANIMATEDMODELASSET, VUSTATICMODELASSET, VUTEXTUREASSET, VUPFXASSET, VUFONTASSET, VUSTRINGASSET, VUTEMPLATEASSET and VUPROJECTASSET, which reveal the kind of asset the file holds.
Various apps that use files with this extension
These apps are known to open certain types of APF files. Remember, different programs may use APF files for different purposes, so you may need to try out a few of them to be able to open your specific file.
