What are AMGP files and how to open them

What is an AMGP file?

An .AMGP file is an AntiMicro Pro file.

An AntiMicro profile file stores user-defined mappings between a gamepad's buttons (or analog inputs) and keyboard keys, mouse buttons, macros or scripts. It is the configuration used by the AntiMicro and AntiMicroX programs to let you control keyboard/mouse-driven software (like games) using a gamepad. The file holds settings for a specific controller and what each button or axis should do in a particular mode.

Profiles are authored in AntiMicro or AntiMicroX and then saved so you can switch between mappings for different games or devices. You load a profile, assign it to a controller (by name, index or GUID), and the program reads the profile's XML content to apply the mappings. You may edit the profile manually in a text editor, but it must follow the schema used by the program.

The file begins with an XML declaration (for example <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>) and contains keywords such as gamecontroller configversion, appversion, sdlname, sets, set, stickbutton, slot, code, mode, keyboard, mouse, and UTF-8. These identifiers help the program recognise this as a valid AntiMicro profile.

How to open AMGP files

Important: Different programs may use files with the AMGP file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your AMGP file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
