What are AMK files and how to open them

What is an AMK file?

An .AMK file is an Automatic Mouse And Keyboard Script file.

Automatic Mouse And Keyboard Script files are text-based macros created by the Windows automation program Automatic Mouse and Keyboard from Robot-Soft. They store a sequence of recorded mouse and keyboard actions, image-based screen searches, delays, control flow (loops, conditionals) and variable operations so that repetitive or GUI-driven tasks can be replayed automatically. The main use is scripting tasks for automation and sometimes compiling those scripts into executable files.

These script files are written and saved by Automatic Mouse and Keyboard. Users can record user interface actions or build tasks manually, then save them into these script files. The software can also export/import these script files, and later play them back or compile them into standalone executable files. Users may include features such as image-search htp://www.robot-soft.com.REV, finding screen elements by sample pictures with support for transparent pixels, background operation, scheduled tasks, and optimized playback speed.

Scripts may refer to variables, named data items, arrays, external data (JSON, SQLite), and perform loops, conditionals or switch-case statements. There are sample scripts with names like clipboard, excel, find_file, named_data, sort_array and sqlite showing different capabilities.

Internally each script file begins with a byte signature starting at offset 0: the ASCII string "SMA.D…AutomaticMouseandKeyboardScriptFile,http://www.robot-soft.com.REV" followed by "WWW.ROBOT-SOFT.COM'REV" and other markers. Keywords like AUTOMATIC MOUSE AND KEYBOARD SCRIPT FILE and HTTP appear in the early portion of the file.
