What is a 3DB file?

A .3DB file is a 3DMark Database file.

3DMark Database (.3DB) files are proprietary data files created and used by the 3DMark benchmarking software from Futuremark Corporation (now UL). These files serve as internal databases that store curated benchmark data, performance metrics, or test metadata produced when 3DMark runs. They are part of how 3DMark records, manages, or references past benchmark runs and related information.

Users do not edit or analyze .3DB files directly; instead they are created and maintained automatically by 3DMark. The software reads from them when generating reports, comparing current test results with stored data, or uploading data to online leaderboards. They remain in binary form and not meant for end-user manipulation.

Each .3DB file begins with a distinctive ASCII header at the start of the file: bytes "33444D61726B2044617461626173652046696C65" at offset zero, which spells "3DMarkDatabaseFile" in ASCII.

How to open 3DB files

Important: Different programs may use files with the 3DB file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your 3DB file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
