What is a 010 file?
Files that contain the .010 file extension are most commonly associated with compressed archive files. A variety of file compression and archiving utilities can take a batch of files and compress them into a single archive file. This makes it easier to distribute the files via email and over the Web.
Many of the utilities that create archive files can then break the archive down into separate volumes to allow for easier distribution and storage of the files. When the archive files are divided into separate volumes, they are each given a different number for the file extension. The .010 file extension is normally assigned to the tenth volume of the file archive.
In order to extract the contents of the archive file all of the volumes must be present.
