What is TuneUp Utilities?
TuneUp Utilities is an application designed to optimize and tweak your Windows computer into the best that it could be, taking advantage of Windows’ hidden processes, services and other settings to squeeze every last ounce of processing power out of your hardware. Developed, published and distributed by German-based IT company, TuneUp Software GmbH (with an American branch that distributes American English versions headquartered in Florida) the first TuneUp Utilities software was released in 1997 and had since transformed the optimization software industry into a multi-million dollar enterprise, in direct competition with such programs as Advanced SystemCare and others. Originally having only several components packaged in the software – such as registry cleaning and privacy sweeper – it had since included over thirty discrete components, some of which can be launched independently without launching the entire suite itself. Although generally having great reviews, users often complain of its exorbitant price for its value.
All of its components can be accessed in a central control panel called the TuneUp Start Center. This central panel hosts the components and categorizes them into four subsections: the 1-Click Maintenance that performs all maintenance functions in a single click, Performance Optimizer, Fix Problems, and Live Optimization.
