Quicken Online Backup
What is Quicken Online Backup?
The Quicken Online Backup is a stand-alone add-on tool for Intuit’s Quicken software, which augments the capabilities of the core Quicken program by enabling its data, configuration, and other miscellaneous data to a cloud-based storage in Intuit’s Quicken servers. The Quicken Online Backup however is purchased separately, but can be tried free for 30 days after which it must be purchased; some (and more expensive) editions of Quicken however include the Online Backup tool. Like most remote backup services, the Quicken Online Backup can be set to automatically back up your files and data, use incremental backups, and the like, but unlike other remote backup services it only works with Quicken data. All backed-up information are encrypted and compressed.
Quicken is a personal finance and management software. Quicken is the progenitor of QuickBooks. The first Quicken release was for DOS. Intuit also once supported an online version (Quicken Online) using a paid subscription model (with a monthly fee), but this was later discontinued and users advised to import their data to Mint; Intuit later acquired Mint in 2009. Quicken has two platform release editions, one for PC and one for Mac, but the features of either are exclusive and some are not present in the other.
